17examination of a dental hygiene testing service approved by the examining affiliated
18credentialing
board.
AB273,7,2019 (e) Passes an examination administered by the examining affiliated
20credentialing
board on the statutes and rules relating to dental hygiene.
AB273,7,2221 (f) Completes any other requirements established by the examining affiliated
22credentialing
board by rule.
AB273,8,3 23(2) The examining affiliated credentialing board may grant a license to practice
24dental hygiene to an individual who is licensed in good standing to practice dental
25hygiene in another state or territory of the United States or in another country if the

1applicant meets the requirements for licensure established by the examining
2affiliated credentialing board by rule and upon presentation of the license and
3payment of the fee specified under s. 440.05 (2).
AB273, s. 29 4Section 29. 447.06 (1) of the statutes is renumbered 447.06 and amended to
5read:
AB273,8,12 6447.06 Practice limitations. No contract of employment entered into
7between a dentist and any other party under which the dentist renders dental
8services may require the dentist to act in a manner which violates the professional
9standards for dentistry set forth in this chapter subchapter. Nothing in this
10subsection section limits the ability of the other party to control the operation of the
11dental practice in a manner in accordance with the professional standards for
12dentistry set forth in this chapter subchapter.

AB273, s. 40 20Section 40. 447.10 of the statutes is amended to read:
AB273,11,6 21447.10 Injunction. If it appears upon the complaint of any person to the
22examining board, or it is believed by the examining board that any person is violating
23this chapter subchapter or subch. III, the examining board, or the district attorney
24of the proper county, may investigate such alleged violation, and may, in addition to
25or in lieu of any other remedies provided by law, bring action in the name and on

1behalf of the state against any such person to enjoin such violation. Between
2meetings of the examining board, its president chairperson and secretary, acting in
3its behalf, are empowered jointly to make such an investigation, and on the basis
4thereof to seek such relief. Investigations conducted by the examining board, or by
5its president chairperson and secretary, shall be conducted according to rules
6promulgated under s. 440.03 (1).

11 Dental societies
AB273, s. 42 12Section 42. 447.12 (1) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB273,11,2213 447.12 (1) The dentists of any county who are licensed to practice dentistry
14under this chapter subch. II, provided there are at least 5 in the county, may organize
15a county dental society as a component of the Wisconsin dental association. When
16so organized it shall be a body corporate, and shall be designated as the dental society
17of the county, and shall have the general powers of a corporation and may take by
18purchase or gift and hold real and personal property. County dental societies now
19existing are continued with the powers and privileges conferred by this chapter
20subchapter. A county or district dental society that was in existence but
21unincorporated on September 29, 1963, is not required to incorporate unless that is
22the express wish of the majority of its members.

AB273,12,15 15(2) No license is required under this subchapter for any of the following:
AB273,12,2016 (b) An individual licensed to practice dental hygiene in another state or country

19under the jurisdiction of the army, navy, air force, U.S. public health service or U.S.

1447.54 Renewal of licenses. Renewal applications shall be submitted to the

3renewal date specified under s. 440.08 (2) (a) and shall include the applicable
4renewal fee specified under s. 440.08 (2) (a) and, if required by rule promulgated by
5the affiliated credentialing board, proof of completion of continuing education
6requirements as specified in the rule.

AB273,13,11 8(3m) Notwithstanding sub. (3) (b) and (d), a dental hygienist may practice
9dental hygiene or perform remediable procedures under sub. (3) if the dentist who
10makes the written or oral prescription specified in sub. (3) (a) waives the
11requirements under sub. (3) (b) and (d).
AB273,13,15 12447.56 Disciplinary proceedings. (1) The affiliated credentialing board

6laboratory without a written work authorization on a form approved by the
7examining board and signed by the authorizing dentist, or directly or indirectly sent
8a patient, or an agent of a patient, to a dental laboratory for any purpose. The
9affiliated credentialing board or its agents or employes may inspect dental offices
10and the work authorization records of dental laboratories to determine compliance
11with this paragraph.
